New this year
Knitting Clinic & Talia Vest

Wendy Hallet

Wendy will share her expertise as you knit the lovely lace Talia Vest with its border or your own projects.   She will cover gauge, altering patterns to fit, reading pattern charts, fixing mistakes, picking up stitches, finishing and blocking.

This is not a beginning knitting class, but Wendy will be glad to assist you on whatever project you would like to do.

Bring your pattern, yarn, needles and questions.  Sock knitters are welcome.

Traditional Hand Applique

Judy Dohm

In this class you will create a lovely appliqued wall hanging using updated hand applique techniques.  You will learn how to make small, nearly invisible stitches to create your special blocks. You’ll make bias tape using a bias tape tool or use a flip and press method to make even smaller bias tape for delicate vines.  Circles, found in so many applique quilts, are not difficult when you know how to prepare them. Many "tricks of the trade" will be introduced to make your hand sewing a pleasurable experience.

You’ll have your choice of two patterns: (1) variations of the Rose of Sharon, or hearts with a meandering vine and leaf border. However, if you have something special you wish to applique, bring it to this class and you’ll receive the instructions you need to be successful. If you have avoided applique or have tried it in the past and have not been pleased with the result, this class will help you get over the hurdles and pitfalls.
